NEW LOCATION/TIME - 9am to 1pm with the fun run activities
Designed to get those bikes out of the sheds/ out from under the house/ out from the back of the garage and back on the road. Bring your bikes down to Shepherds Park beside the football club where the Fun Run Start/Finish line and activities are being held in Beach Haven and get them checked for safety and learn how to keep your wheels spinning.
Meeting at Birkenhead Wharf at 9:00am to catch the 9:35am Ferry, returning on the 11:40am Ferry from downtown.
This guided bike ride is aimed for people who ride currently, looking for a relaxed ride on a relatively level path with views and good company.
We will be catching the ferry to the Downtown Ferry Building, meeting for a briefing where the Next Bike hire bikes are on Queens Wharf. From there we will head east along the Quay Street Cycle way and Tamaki Drive to Mission Bay (or Okahu Bay if time will not permit a longer ride). Total distance is about 14kms.
All of the journey will be on protected cycleways or shared paths (share with care) there will be a few road crossings to navigate.
Riders should be comfortable riding on the road, riding the distance described above and riding hills. You will need a road legal bicycle, helmet, your hop card or cash for your ferry fare, water, sunscreen and appropriate clothing keeping in mind it is spring in Auckland.

Meeting at Shepherds Park in Beach Haven at 8:00am, returning to Bayswater/ Northcote Point/ Birkenhead on the 11:40am Ferry from downtown.
This guided bike ride is aimed for looking for a longer ride and/or are curious about how to get from the North Shore to the Northwestern Cycleway.
Most of the journey will be on cycle paths and once on the Northwestern Cycleway at Lincoln Road we don't need to interact with traffic for the rest of the journey to the Ferry Building except for a short section through the Viaduct Harbour. For the route you should expect some will be on shared paths (share with care), there will be on road cycle paths, separated cycle paths and small sections on road.
At all times the group will be controlled by ride marshals. We ask that you follow their instructions as they have been tasked with ensuring the group gets to the destination on time, safely and with smiles intact. If you wish to leave the group along the way that is acceptable but please notify one of the marshals.
